Kimblewick Hunt Ball Saturday 1 March 2014

Great night at Kingston Blount on Saturday for the Kimblewick Hunt Ball that went on until 2.00 in the morning. We had a packed floor all night and great feedback from the guests who said it was a brilliant night

St George's Hill Golf Club Centenary Ball at the Savoy

September saw the band return to one of their favourit stomping grounds - The Savoy.  The event was to celebrate St George's Hill Golf Club's Centenary Ball and what a night it was!  We booked additional entertainment including Opera on the Run who were disguised as waiters and burst into song while coffee was being served and the clients loved the vibrancy and the song choice which  set the scene for The Dark Blues to increase the tempo and get everyone up on the dance floor.  We got some amazing feedback and I think there were song very tired guests at the end of the night with very sore feet.

September - Italian Tour

The band travelled to beautiful Tuscany this September to perform at a number of week long events including one in the medieval town square of Greve in Chianti.  Everyone from the town turned out to watch and dance to the band and even the Mayor was bopping away!

August - Weddings, Weddings, Weddings!

August is one of those favourite times for brides to book their weddings and this year has been no exception. The band have had a busy time with weddings at Stowe School, Luton Hoo and even an incredible wedding held at the Waterfront Brasserie on the Hampshire Coast; not quite a wedding on the beach, but very nearly!

X Factor 2013

Our fabulous singer Annabel Williams has again been chosen to be the vocal coach on this year's X Factor and you can catch glimpses of her as she gives advice and training to this year's hopefuls.  Annabel has been working on X Factor for the past two years and will also be assisting with Britain' Got Talent when it launches again early in 2014.  Annabel combines this with her work with The Dark Blues and  regular singing career and you can catch up with her activities on facebook.

Dark Blues Summer Party Saturday 1 June 2013

We had another hugely successful party at the Herts Showground for our annual charity event when we raise funds for the Iain Rennie Grove House Hospice in St Albans.  The theme this year was 'Gold' to tie in with the band's incredible achievement of 50 years in the business.  We had around 400 revellers who had a fantastic time and we will be partying again next year on Saturday 31 May 2014 and if you want information on this great event please let us know

Annabel Williams the voice coach with X Factor

Our lead female singer, Annabel Williams is delighted to have been given the job of voice coach on this year's X Factor and here is a snippet of her backstage giving advice on how to look after your voice.

The band played for Ambassador Earle Mack's 60's reunion party at the Ritz Hotel last night and what an amazing party it was.  The party had been organised by Lady Elizabeth Anson and her team at Party Planners and Ambassador Mack had requested that The Dark Blues play music from the 60's so they played lots of Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, Stones and even Bob Dylan.  There were also a number of celebrities who attended including Cilla Black, Paul O'Grady and Lorraine Kelly and everyone commented on how great the music was

What Rumer did after Glastonbury

What a treat our client had on Saturday evening! The Dark Blues singer, Annabelle Williams has been supporting Rumer during her current tour and was performing at Glastonbury on Saturday afternoon on the Pyramid stage. Annabelle was then due to perform the same night with The Dark Blues at a private party in Radlett, but due to difficulties with the shuttle bus getting out of Glastonbury was proving impossible and she thought she was going to miss the gig. This is when Rumer kindly came to Anni's assistance and got her own tour bus to take Anni to Radlett where The Dark Blues were playing. Not only that, rather than going home after a gruelling day that started at 5.00 am that morning Rumer came along to the gig too and actually joined in on one or two songs! She notably performed an excellent rendition of Son of a Preacher Man and then joined Anni and our 2 other lovely singers and performed 'Shout'- what an amazing combination! You can imagine the surprise and delight of the guests when she took to the stage, it was certainly a night to remember.

The Dark Blues Picnic June 4 2011

What a brilliant night we had at our 20th Dark Blues Picnic on Saturday 4th June at The Herts Showground. We had nearly 700 guests and raised £5000 for Grove House Hospice in St Albans. The band was in brilliant form and not only did we have the outstanding vocals of Annabel Williams but she was joined by another diva - Rietta Austin. No wonder everyone danced the night away with two such great performers.
